Bob Marley Musician Extraordinary "Crazy"

Maybe people in general around the world when they hear or read the words "Rasta" or "Rastafari", then they spontaneously picture Bob Marley's face, imagining his distinctive, authentic, attractive appearance. And ringing in his ears the songs he sings. It is even possible to remember all the accessories and attributes, including the colors. Bob Marley's music is simply insane. Long before there was the internet and android, it was very popular.

Especially when it comes to Bob Marley, it's okay if anyone is in the mood, in tune with his soul, and then becomes a fan. Because Bob Marley is a world musician, his music is universal and human. The sound of applause, the sound of rain, the sound of thunder, the sound of the wind in the desert, etc., includes music, even the sound of people sawing wood or iron, can be called music. So it's okay to like Bob Marley's music.

But music is no longer universal when the lyrics are included in it, because it will become more specific and there is a story in it, there is a purpose in it, there is an expression of the heart, certain messages, etc. Then came the terms "song of struggle", "religious song", "children's song", even the song "politics". The rhythm of Bob Marley's songs belongs to the Reggae type, the rhythm is fluid and makes your feet, hands, or head sway when you hear it. As for what category do Bob Marley's song lyrics fall into? Just listen to the songs.

Regarding Bob Marley's personality, maybe people will still like him, without reservation. His fans are all over the world. Various accessories in the style of Bob Marley became a very salable commodity, from all ages, from all nationalities, and from various religions and races. Because Bob Marley's music has been "crazed" and has become a world legend, just like John Lennon, Elvis Presley, James Brown, Michael Jackson, etc.

But when he looks like a Rasta, then since then people have started to debate, because Rasta or Rastafari is no longer in the "religious space". Are you surprised?

Below are some original notes from some of the website content. Without changing at all, just copy and paste. Because we are not included in the scope of other people's religions, we do not deserve to interfere [the author is Muslim], if a question mark arises, then consult an expert.

Question: What is the definition of Rasta? Who founded it? What are their beliefs?

Answer: Rasta (also known as Rastafarian) is a religion created by a Jamaican man named Marcus Garvey. He created it after the crowning of Ras Tafari Makonnen (Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia, also known as Prince Tafari before his coronation) as "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" which took place in Ethiopia in 1930.

One of the unique beliefs of Rasta is the use of marijuana (pot) as a "sacrament" and as an aid to meditation. They also command the wearing of dreadlocks as a hairstyle.

Some of the beliefs of Rasta are undoubtedly true, as no religion is entirely a lie. However, the black separatism and the hatred of whites engendered by this movement certainly are antithetical to the teachings of Jesus.

Many view the belief in the superiority of the black race, as promoted by Rasta, with skepticism. We are all equal in God's eyes, as Paul wrote that in Christ there is no distinction of race, economic class or even sex. We are all one in Jesus (Galatians 3:28).

Your Email asked if Haile Selassie, the focal point of Rasta, was the highest honored emperor on Earth. Only a few million people, at most, revered Selassie (who died in 1974). This is to be contrasted with other rulers and emperors, throughout history, who have had tens of millions of adherents (China's rulers, etc.) worship them like a god.

It is therefore not true that he was the "highest honored emperor" on the planet, even though he was no doubt highly esteemed by those who believed in Rasta.

Marcus Garvey claimed that Ras Tafari Makonnen (Haile Selassie) was essentially God in the flesh, the second coming of Jesus, the Messiah, and promoted worshipping him as a god. Furthermore, quoting from a website related to this group, it is stated "Rasta rejects the Bible used by most Christians, opting instead for a 'black man's Bible' known as the Holy Piby."

The above beliefs are clearly not correct. Scripture is the only valid record of God's dealings with mankind and his communication with us regarding His will, laws, commands and so on that are necessary for salvation (2Timothy 3:15 - 16).

Jesus, when he came two thousand years ago, was literally God in the flesh (or God dwelling in flesh) and was the only begotten son of God the Father. Based on many scriptures (John 1:14, 18, 1John 4:9, etc. ) Haile Selassie was not and could not have been "god in the flesh."

Furthermore, when the true second coming of Jesus occurs it will not happen secretly nor take place in a far-flung part of the world unbeknownst to the vast majority of humanity. The whole world will know when Christ is coming back to earth, and that he is doing so with power and with the authority to set up the kingdom of God on earth (Revelation 19:11, 13 - 16).

Based on the Bible, one must reject Rasta and the overall beliefs of this religious group.

"Referring to people practicing Rastafarianism, a belief that Haile Selassie a.k.a. Tafari Makonnen a.k.a. Ras Tafari (ras meaning duke, or head; Tafari meaning trinity, or power of three in Amharic, the most widely used language of Ethiopia)was and is the second coming of Christ. see also Rastafari. Referring (incorrectly) to any person having dreadlocks

people sus pan rasta because they fear truth; but rasta never molests a man, and those with evil in their hearts fear him, fear the power of Jah, of I and I."

"A rasta or Rastafarian is someone who follows the religion of Rastafarianism.

There are some "poser" rastas, that only call themselves rastas so that they can dread their hair and smoke weed.

The smoking of weed is considered a way of speaking to their god, Jah. Rastafarians do read and follow the bible, and they helped shape Jamaica's people nowadays. A true Rastafarian praises Jah with all his might."

"The Rastafarian religion originated in Africa. It is often associated with the poorer black population of Jamaica. It is not just a religion, but a way of life. Rastafarians speak out against; poverty, oppression, and inequality.....not just religious ideas but global problems. Rastafarians will use the Bible for guidance, although it is interpreted through black eyes."

"A Christian denomination/cult from Jamaica. They believe that Selassie (a Christian emperor of Ethiopia) was the second coming of Christ.

Rastafarians believe in the Bible, which they use to justify smoking weed. They call God Jah (because that is the name the Bible gives Him. Psalm 68:4)."

"cool people from the Rastafari movement mostly in jamaica have dreds, therefore, they are cool and they religiously smoke weed!!!!!"

"someone of the Rastafarian faith, a Christian denomination that emphasizes hate against whites and homosexuals and promotes black supremacism. Dude, we shouldn't buy weed from the rastas because they will try to rip us off since we're white."
